BCHS Dual Credit Program successes

From BCISD

Bay City High School announced significant milestones in its dual credit program, marked by the successful completion of this year’s staff members who dedicated themselves to furthering their education and credentials.
This achievement highlights the dedication of our educators and underscores the community’s commitment to fostering college readiness.
The dual credit program currently includes face-to-face classes in English, algebra, history, government, biology, theater, and music, has had remarkable growth in enrollment.
This success can be attributed to support from the community, scholarships, guidance from our counselors, faculty recruitment efforts, and the successful implementation of our Early College program.
To meet the growing demand for dual credit classes, Bay City High School initiated a master’s cohort in the Fall of 2022, encouraging its staff to pursue master’s degrees and/or add 18 hours of coursework in their respective content areas.
The coursework was funded by Bay City ISD through the TCLASS grant, in partnership with the University of Houston-Victoria for graduate studies, and collaboration with Wharton County Junior College to add faculty to teach dual credit courses.
