Robbery suspect captured Monday

   Following a Bay City PD request for information on a robbery suspect press release on Facebook, the suspect was captured on foot Monday afternoon. 
   Patrol Officers located Joshua James Brannan, 20, at around 1:23 p.m. in the 1000 block of Shellfish in Bay City.  
   After a short foot pursuit, Brannan was arrested for the outstanding felony warrant and for evading officers on foot.   
Brannan was transported to Matagorda County Jail.  
  On Sunday, Feb. 4  at 4:10 p.m. the Bay City Police Department received a report of a robbery at Bay City Walgreens, 3018 Seventh St.  
Responding patrol officers were given a physical and clothing description of the alleged suspect and checked the area around the store upon arrival.  
The suspect entered the store and allegedly told the clerk that he was robbing the store.  
The suspect removed money from the cash register and exited the store.
Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were called to the scene where additional evidence collection continued.    
While viewing the store’s video footage, officers recognized the alleged suspect.  
After further investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Brennan.
