       Playground equipment at Duncan Park, 612 Duncan Avenue, was ablaze when the Bay City Police Department, Bay City Volunteer Fire Department, and Bay City Fire Marshal answered the fire call at about 10:20 p.m. March 8.   
      The first arriving police officer notified the dispatcher that part of the playground equipment was on fire.    
      Officer Dillan Wakefield attempted unsuccessfully to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher.   
      The fire department was able to extinguish the fire when they arrived.    
      The fire damaged the equipment and mulch surrounding the equipment.  
      The fire marshal is investigating the fire, which is suspicious in nature.
