Coach Rebecca Hanson reached a milestone last Tuesday with her 150th win as Head Coach.
The Van Vleck graduate had been the Head Coach at Van Vleck the last 7 years and 8th overall.
Never one to take credit, Hanson’s teams are always competitive and she has always found a way for her teams to be in the mix for a playoff spot.
Hanson was also the Head Coach at Floresville and Ft Bend Dulles.
This year’s team is currently 11-2-1 on the season and 3-0 in district play.
The Lady Leopards scored early and often in their win over Hitchcock 16-0. Keira Reis got the win in the circle by striking out 5 and giving up 2 hits.
Leading hitters were Serenity Suarez with 3 hits and 5 RBI’s. Lakyn Matchett with 3 hits and 2 RBI’s.
Also getting in the hit column was Alexa Zuniga 3-4, Keira Reis 2-3, Olivia Britton 2-3, Kylie Sazera 1-3, Nicole Ryman 1-3, Cydnee Hahn 1-2 and Madison Rosado 1-2.
On Wednesday, the Lady Leps hit the road and defeated the Boling Bulldogs 4-0. Lakyn Matchett gave a dominant pitching performance with 14 strikeouts.
Serenity Suarez was 2-3 and hit her 2nd homerun in as many days. Also picking up hits were Jaila Wilson 2-3, Olivia Britton 1- 3, 2 RBI’s, Lakyn Matchett 1-3, Keira Reis 1-4 and Michelle-Rose Mireles 1-3.
This week the Lady Leopards will play at home Tuesday vs East Bernard and again at home Friday vs Brazos.
