VVHS Lady Leps stand 13-2 on season; 5-0 in district

   Van Vleck waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins - but they left with six. 
  They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Bernard 5-4.
  Lakyn Matchett spent all seven innings on the mound, and she surrendered just zero earned (four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 10 Ks. 
  On the hitting side, Van Vleck’s victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. 
  One of them was Michelle Rose-Mireles1-3, Alexa Zuniga 1- 4, Olivia Britton 1-3, Lakyn Matchett 1- 2, Teagan Leura 1-for-2 with a triple, and Serenity Suarez 1- 3, with the winning sacrifice fly. 
  The Lady Leps continued to play well on Friday and defeated Brazos 10-0. 
  The winning pitcher was Keira Reis who ended the 5-inning game with 6 K’s.
  Leading hitters for the Leps were Serenity Suarez 2-3, Lakyn Matchett 2-3, Nicole Ryman 2-2, Michelle Rose-Mireles 2-2, Kylie Sazera 2-3, Teagan Luera 2-3, Keira Reis 1-2 and Olivia Britton 1-3 and 1 HR.
  The Lady Leps are now 13-2-on the season and 5-0 in District. 
  They will finish their first round of district play when they travel to Danbury Thursday with a 6 p.m. game.
