Police probe shooting on Hamman Rd

   A 19-year-old was wounded and taken by helicopter to Houston for treatment following a shooting on Hamman Road at about 8:46 p.m. Friday, April 26, Bay City police said.
  Officers were sent to the 2200 Block of Hamman Road about shots fired and before they arrived a Matagorda Regional Medical Center (MRMC) security officers told officers the hospital received a call about a gunshot victim en route to the hospital.
  Officer Ryan Saucedo was rerouted to the hospital to wait for the victim.
  When he arrived at the hospital, Saucedo saw the 19-year-old victim being treated for several gunshot wounds.
  None of the wounds were
  life threatening, but the victim was later sent by Life Flight to Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston.
  Saucedo contacted a witness to the shooting.
  The witness said they were walking down Hamman when a vehicle pulled up to the stop sign on Misty Lane and began firing shots.
  The witness and the victim began running away when the victim was shot.
  The witness had an idea of who might have done the shooting, but was not positive at that point, police said.
  Saucedo was advised that a white SUV may be the suspect vehicle.
  Detective Aubree Navaro was contacted and spoke to the victim before they were sent by helicopter to Houston.
Evidence was collected at the scene.
  The case is still under investigation.
