Bay City Police Officers once again teamed up with Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers for a special operation Tuesday, April 30.
Operation Semi Stop targeted commercial motor vehicles traveling through Bay City.
Operations like this team Bay City PD officers with Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Troopers.
“This creates a great learning opportunity for Bay City officers,” said Police Chief Christella Rodriguez.
During this five-hour operation, troopers and officers conducted 28 inspections on commercial motor vehicles.
There were 114 violations documented.
Three drivers were put out of service, while 15 vehicles were put out of service for various violations.
Once a vehicle is out of service, it cannot return to the road until the issue that put it out of service is addressed.
“Bay City PD would like to thank the Troopers that came down and worked,” the chief said.
“We hope to conduct more operations like this in the future.”
