The Wharton County Junior College Foundation will have a casino party, named Blackjack, Glitz & Glamor in Sugar Land. Funds raised will benefit the Wharton County Junior College Foundation.
Scheduled for 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, at the Sugar Land Marriott, the ticketed event will include a variety of casino games, hors d’oeurves, and the chance to win prizes.
The event aims to raise needed funds by reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to changing the lives of students through education.
The organization’s purpose is to give every student access to quality education and the resources necessary to succeed.
Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) will serve as the title sponsor of the event that will focus on the “Raising the Stakes” theme. “Many of our students enrolling for the fall semester will be the first members of their families to attend college and many will come from families of low income,” WCJC President Betty McCrohan said.
“The Foundation supports our students with scholarships and helps to transform lives for the better.
“We are proud to support the Foundation and work together to Raise the Stakes in granting more opportunities for our students.”
WCJC Foundation President Suzanne Armour said she is excited to share this event with the community.
“We are grateful to Wharton County Junior College and all of our sponsors for their enthusiasm and support,” Armour said.
“Our mission is to change the lives of those that work and study at Wharton County Junior College and we want to continue to increase this impact for the faculty, students, and staff across the entire service area.”
The WCJC Foundation Office is on the Wharton campus inside the J.M. Hodges Library.
