Van Vleck ISD announces 2 top administrators

Van Vleck ISD recently announced that Matt Steiner was recently approved to be named VVISD Assistant Superintendent and Shannon Garcia will be the new Van Vleck High School Principal.
Steiner obtained his Superintendent’s certification earlier this year.
Starting his 13th year in education this summer, Steiner has seven years of successful campus experience as a principal at multiple schools within VVISD.
He also has a proven track record of raising student achievement, improving campus and board accountability goals, and fostering innovation, and leading his staff and students in a positive work/learning environment.
He has supervised administrators and staff while directing the district safety procedures and plan this past year, leading other administrators with TTESS and disciplinary guidance, managing accountability plans, and significantly enhancing outcomes of all student populations.
Had a great time visiting with folks at the Coffee with the Commissioner recently at Sargent.
Garcia is beginning her 19th year in education and has worked at Bay City ISD and Region 3 prior to coming to VVISD two years ago.
She came to us with a wealth of knowledge having worked with Region 3 and TEA on the latest trends in teaching and progress monitoring in education.
Garcia excelled in her role as assistant principal and is a positive leader as she is truly dedicated to making the staff and students successful.
She is excited about transitioning into this new role because of the opportunity to learn, grow, and build relationships while serving the Van Vleck students, staff, families, and communities.
Her vision for fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment aligns seamlessly with the district’s collective aspirations for our students’ growth and achievement in the classroom and with extra-curricular activities.
