Independence Day falls on Thursday, July 4, this year.
Local closures include the Bay City Public Library, and city and county offices.
Bay City Parks and Recreation Department’s annual “Freedom Fireworks” will be 6-9:30 p.m. Thursday, July 4, in Le Tulle Park, 1135 SH 35 South just outside of Bay City.
Don’t forget to bring chairs or blankets to sit on and watch the show!

Federal closures are the U.S. Postal Service and all banks.
“GFL garbage collection will be delayed one day,” reads the GFL Holiday Closings webpage.
“Monday’s trash route will be collected on Tuesday and so forth, with Friday’s trash route collected on Saturday. City offices will be closed.”
The Bay City Sentinel office is also closed Thursday-Friday, July 4-5, and will return to regular business hours Monday, July 8.
