From Bay City Parks and Recreation Department
Trucks, tractors, maintenance equipment will roll into the Sports Complex on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for the fifth annual Touch-A-Truck event hosted by the Bay City Parks and Recreation Department.
Touch-A-Truck offers children the opportunity to see, explore, and learn about their favorite big trucks and heavy machinery that protect, serve, build, and maintain cities and the people who operate them.
The day is full of food, fun, and everything you DIG about trucks.
“I’m incredibly excited about the hosting the fifth annual Touch a Truck event, which promises to be bigger, better, and more fun than ever!” notes Kelly Penewitt, Interim Director of Parks and Recreation.
“Bay City Parks and Recreation provides events and programs that encourage citizens of all ages to get outside and play.
“It’s my hope that this event inspires many of Bay City kids to learn more about the public services our city provides and the big trucks and machines that help us make Bay City the great city it truly is.”
This free community event is hosted by the Bay City Parks and Recreation Department from 10 – 2 p.m.
There is a sensory-friendly hour to accommodate individuals with special needs who may be sensitive to horns, sirens and lights from 10 to 11 a.m.
Word of Caution...The trucks and vehicles on display are working machinery, so extreme caution is required when walking around trucks and vehicles or getting in or on them.
An adult or guardian must always accompany.
Closed-toe shoes must be worn always in, on or around vehicles.
