Job description for Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Club

   Position Title:    Bay City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture Ambassador Club Member
  A great way to build relationships and business contacts is to join the Chamber Ambassadors Club.  
  The Ambassadors are an active group of 36 Chamber members designed to bridge the current active membership and new members with the services provided by the Chamber.    
  Any active member of the Bay City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture may apply to become an Ambassador. The Ambassadors have a private social once a quarter.    
  The event features training, distribution of new member and current member packets, and networking and sharing with other Ambassadors.
  The Chamber Ambassador Club program is the public face of the Bay City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture.  
  Its purpose is to recruit, retain, promote, and mentor the Chamber’s members while involving and informing new members.    
  Ambassadors are volunteers who, on behalf of the Chamber, encourage others to be an active supporter of the various programs.
  Primary Tasks & Responsibilities:  
  Host events, mixers, luncheons, and ribbon cuttings  
  Provide a one-year or more commitment to the Ambassador Club program  
  Help retain new members by contacting them though out the year  
  Personally ‘network’ for fellow chamber members by promoting their products and services to current and new members  
  Attend chamber functions as often as possible  
  Attend quarterly socials

  Get your information included in new member packets (only Ambassadors are allowed to put information into the new member packets).  
  Meet business leaders for potential business and social contacts
Obtain an insider’s perspective of area’s business community

  Your participation will create more opportunities to benefit your business a real impact and return on investment.  
  To make a difference in the community in which we live, and, at the same time, enhance our own business exposure.

  Ambassador Club Teams:  
  Current Ambassadors are divided into six teams.    
  Each team consists of six members for a total of 36 members.   
  The Ambassadors work cooperatively to fulfill the mission of the Chamber and the Ambassadors teams will rotate various tasks as needed.    
  Events: host mixers, luncheons, and ribbon cuttings, attend all official chamber events, when possible one person will need to join the planning for each event.  
  Recruit: regularly recruit new members.  
  New members: deliver new welcome baskets, call to invite them to attend events & new member orientation, arrange for ambassador information to be included in the welcome baskets.  
  Existing members: contact existing members for feedback, reminders, and information.  Contacts may be made in person or over the phone.    
  Deliver the membership directories.  
  Ribbon cutting responsibilities:   
  As the face of the Bay City Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture, the Ambassadors welcome new, relocated, and remodeled businesses through ribbon cutting ceremonies.  
  To welcome the member to the chamber  
  To be in the picture with the new member  
  To go on a tour if offered Invite new member to chamber events  
  To ‘host’ the event; pick up scissors, ribbon & camera from the chamber if asked  
  Please arrive to the ribbon cutting 10 minutes before scheduled time and offer to assist with last minute preparations.
  Responsibilities for mixers:  
  This free event provides an opportunity for members to network in a relaxed atmosphere.  
  Serve as greeter and distribute name tags  
  Offer to assist with set up or clean up  
  Collect business cards for drawing  
  Take photographs to be included in upcoming newsletters  
  Answer questions and invite comments on chamber activities  
  Responsibilities for Events:
Have one team member serve at the planning meeting for each event  
  All team members must attend to help as needed  
  Act as event hosts, volunteers, and recruiters
