BCPD announces results from traffic engagement

From BCPD

The Bay City Police Department is pleased to report the successful conclusion of our recent high visibility traffic engagement period.
The HVE Period ran from Sept. 9 to Sept. 13, during which time officers conducted 176 traffic stops, resulting in a total of 218 warnings and citations.
Bay City Police Chief Christella Rodriguez called for the HVE Period, aimed at enhancing road safety and compliance with traffic laws throughout our community.
During this period, officers focused on various violations, including speeding, running red lights, and other infractions that compromise the safety of our roadways.
“We are committed to ensuring the safety of everyone in our community.
Traffic safety is crucial not only for protecting drivers but also for safeguarding pedestrians, cyclists, and our children.
Every accident we prevent and every unsafe behavior we correct makes Bay City a safer place for all of us,” said Chief Christella Rodriguez.
“We urge all drivers to continue practicing safe and responsible driving habits.”
“This high visibility engagement was an opportunity to address local traffic issues and encourage safer driving practices,” Lt. Chris Hadash added.
“We thank our officers for their diligent work and the public for their cooperation.”
The Bay City Police Department is dedicated to improving traffic safety and will continue to implement strategies like HVE Periods that are aimed at reducing accidents and promoting responsible driving.
