The City of Bay City Parks and Recreation, Police, and Public Works Departments have officially set 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 as the new date and time for the annual “Lighted Christmas Parade.”
The parade route, entry numbers, and staging area will remain unchanged.
Originally, the parade was slated for 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.
The City of Bay City decided on Monday, Dec. 2, to reschedule the parade due to the Bay City Blackcats and Tidehaven Tigers competing in the UIL Football regional Championships on Friday.
Residents are encouraged to support the Blackcats and Tigers as they continue their journey in the playoffs.
The Parks and Recreation Department will contact all parade participants to inform them of the new date.
“We hope that everyone who signed up for the parade will be able to participate on the new date,” said Interim Parks & Recreation Director Kelly Penewitt in a press release.
“We will celebrate the Blackcats, Tigers, and Leopards for their hard work and dedication on Thursday, Dec. 12.”
Trophies will be awarded to the best-scoring groups in their category.
