“Lexington was everything we thought they were,” said Head Coach David Lucio.  “Their offense was fast, explosive, and plain scary,” he added.
“Our boys did a good job of making them work for their points and doing a good job of bending but not breaking.
“TJ Galvan had two big interceptions, along with his cousin Boogie’s big interception,” the coach remarked.
“Jachen Duran ran hard, despite playing through a couple of injuries.
“The offensive line dominated at times, which led to us having a great night running the ball,” Lucio said.
“Chad Faas, who recently had to start playing both ways, had some huge catches and a lot of tackles.
“Overall it was a great team win.
“Woodville is by far the most talented team we will have faced this year,” Lucio noted.
“They are huge, extremely fast, and very strong.
“They have blown out some of the top teams in the state in 3A Division 2,” he pointed out.
“The majority of their starters are seniors, including offensive and defensive lines that are all seniors.
“Their offense goes fast like Lexington’s, and they can run and throw the ball well.
“This isn’t the first time we have had to face a team bigger, older, and faster than us,” Lucio said.
“We will load our buses up, take our scrappy team over to New Caney, and see if we can land a haymaker and get back to Arlington.”
