Friesenhahn competes at state

   The Bay City High School Speech and Debate Team member Grant Friesenhahn competed at the UIL State Championship in Congressional Debate! 
  Grant placed among the top 32 debaters in the state of Texas. 
  This is Grant’s third appearance at the UIL State Championships, having competed in One Act play as a freshman and LD Debate as a sophomore. 
  Grant’s journey to this accomplishment began in September. He and his debate team members crafted pieces of legislation to be submitted to the Region Advisory Committee.
  Bay City High School submitted four pieces of legislation that made the Region 3 docket. 
]   In November, Grant and his team members competed at the Region Championship in Victoria. Grant earned a first place finish and became region champion.
  As a junior, Grant is a debate team captain, Dungeoneer officer, and band section leader among other leadership roles. 
  He is an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and serves his community in many roles.
