A 21-year-old Bay City was arrested on charges that included possession of a controlled substance and a Val Verde County felony warrant for human struggling, Bay City Police said.
Bay City Police Department Narcotics Division and police patrol officers executed a search warrant, at a 1500 Ave. A residence, after about a three-week narcotics investigation about 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8.
Mario Timothy Garza II, 21, of Bay City, was arrested for manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance under 28 grams, after Xanax pills were found, reports show.
Garza also had a second-degree felony warrant for his arrest out of Val Verde County for human smuggling of person(s) under the age of 18, police said.
Also found in the house was two assault rifles and two handguns.
Garza was transported to the Matagorda County Jail.
“Today, we took another step in the fight against human smuggling by arresting a subject wanted for trafficking underage victims,” said Police Chief Christella Rodriguez.
“Let this serve as a clear message, those who exploit the vulnerable will be held accountable.
“We stand firm in our commitment to seeking justice and ensuring these criminals are put behind bars where they belong.”
