The Lady Leopards softball team started district play 2 - 0 by defeating Hempstead 10 - 0 and Hitchcock 12 - 1.
In the first district game of the 2025 season, the Leopards pounded out 15 hits in their win over Hempstead.
Leading the way offensively were Crystal Garcia, Ierial Garcia and Kylie Sazera (4 RBI’s) each with 3 hits.
Alexa Zuniga, Kameron Waller had 2 hits a piece with Reese Polk and Lakyn Matchett picking up base hits as well.
Lakyn Matchett was the winning pitcher with 16 strikeouts after just giving up 1 hit.
The Lady Leps picked up their second district win on Friday by defeating Hitchcock 12-1.
Lakyn Matchett was the winner in the circle by giving up 2 hits to go along with 12 strikeouts.
Leading hitters were Kameron Waller, Adia Kile and Nicole Ryman with 2 hits.
Alexa Zuniga, Crystal Garcia, Ierial Garcia, Kylie Sazera. Lakyn Matchett, Bryanna Jolly and Aamry Gutierrez were all part of the 13 hit attack by the Leopards.
The Lady Leps are 9-3-2 on the season and were to play Brazos and East Bernard last week.
