"Unofficial May 3 Election totals posted" by: Mike Reddell

Bay City voters approved two of three proposed city charter changes – one for aligning council terms and the other requiring at least one meeting a month, in Bay City and Palacios elections Saturday, May 3.

The charter proposal that allowed the city manager to live outside of city limits or the ETJ failed.

Voters reelected Mayor Robert Nelson, Position 3 Councilman Bradley B. Westmoreland, and Position 5 Councilman Blayne Finlay.

All three were unopposed.

Susan M. Reardon won the Position 4 council seat over Cory McCray.

In the Bay City school board, unopposed incumbents Place 1 trustee Trent Tinnin and Place 2 trustee James Scardami were reelected.

In Place 3, Kenneth Eaton won out over incumbent Felix Nunez and opponent Sayrah Dwight Craft.

In the Palacios school board election, unopposed incumbent Dane Kubecka was reelected to Position 3.

In Position 4, Brian Busby defeated Barbara R. Adams.

In Place 7, Fabian Marroquin defeated Adrian Rene Galvan.

In the Palacios City Council election, unopposed incumbent Larry Glenn was reelected to Place 3.

In Place 4, Victoria Duran defeated Michael Dotson.

In Place 5, Joe Ramirez defeated Kent Adams.

A total of 1,207 voters cast ballots out of the county's 13,998 registered voters.
