Bay City Parks and Recreation, in collaboration with the Area Agency on Aging, announces the launch of two free wellness programs for residents aged 55 and older.
These programs - Tai Chi for Health and Bingocize - are designed to improve physical health, balance, mobility, and social well-being among older adults in our community.
Tai Chi for Health
This evidence-based program uses Sun-style Tai Chi to enhance relaxation, mobility, and balance.
It also provides benefits for individuals managing chronic diseases, arthritis, and pain, while helping prevent falls.
Dates: Mondays & Thursdays, Aug. 11 – 28
Time: 1:30 – 2:00 p.m.
Bingocize
Combining the fun of bingo with low-impact exercise and health education, Bingocize is a unique program that addresses topics like nutrition, fall prevention, and Alzheimer’s awareness while building strength, balance, and mental agility.
Dates: Mondays & Thursdays, Aug. 11 - Sept. 29
Time: 2-3 p.m.
Location for both programs:
USO Building
2105 Avenue M
Bay City
Cost: Free to all participants
“We are thrilled to bring engaging, effective, and accessible fitness programs to our senior population,” said Kelly Penewitt, Parks and Recreation Manager.
“Both Tai Chi and Bingocize are proven to improve quality of life - and participants have fun while doing it!”
