Van Vleck will be at home again Thursday for a scrimmage with cross-county opponent Palacios.
Head Coach Shannon Permenter discussed the Aug. 21 scrimmage with Palacios and last Friday’s scrimmage with Weimar.
“Scrimmage went well,” Permenter said of the Weimar scrimmage.
“We saw a lot of good things and a lot of things we need to clean up,” Permenter noted.
“Defensively, I was very pleased,” the coach added.
“We rallied to the ball very well and tackled as a team better than we have in early scrimmages prior to this year.
“Offensively, we have a ways to go given that we graduated so many playmakers,” the coach pointed out.
“Our offensive line was very physical, but we need to get in shape and clean up some blocking rules.
“Our kids played very hard and I feel very good heading into our next scrimmage vs Palacios on Thursday.”
