"Tigers win bi-district, look to Stockdale in area playoff" by: Mike Reddell

Tidehaven had 780 total yards of offense in its 62-7 dismantling of the Comfort Bobcats for the Bi-District championship of the UIL football playoffs Thursday, Nov. 13 in Seguin.
Comfort had a total of 224 total yards.
That offensive total included 374 yards rushing, led by senior quarterback Kale Russell with 131 yards and three touchdowns.
Sophomore Jullian Stockton had 122 yards and two touchdowns.
Senior Ethan Barker also had a 7-yard touchdown.
Russell was 11 of 15 for 304 yards passing with two passing touchdowns.
Senior wide receiver Boogie Galvan was the leading receiver with 112 yards on four receptions and a touchdown.
Junior tight end Caiden Glaze had a 38-yard touchdown reception from Russell.
Junior wide receiver Bode Sones also had a one-yard receiving touchdown.
Senior TJ Galvan had 78 yards receiving on three catches, including one for 58 yards.
Sophomore Tiger kicker Andres Nunez had 8 PATs.
  In other highlights,
Matthew Riddick had one forced fumble.
   Bryce Sliva recovered a fumble
TJ Galvan made another interception to end the first half.
“Our boys played a great game,” said Tidehaven Head Coach David Lucio.
“The games after a great victory - like the one against East Bernard - can be hard to show up for.
“I thought we started a little bit sluggish, but we picked it up as the game went on,” Jones added.
“At one point in the second half, we scored 8 times in 16 plays, although two were called back by some mystery holding penalties,” he pointed out.
Tidehaven will play the Stockdale Brahmas at Warrior Stadium, Tuloso-Midway, Corpus Christi, at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21.
“This week’s opponent will be tougher,” Lucio said.
“They have a record of 9-2 and played Poth, who is usually a state contender, to a close game,” the coach added.
“Their quarterback is big and fast, he’s usually who does most of the work for them,” Lucio explained.
“Their defense has struggled at times, so we want that to be the case Friday.
“As usual, the goal will be to get them to fall behind and chase us,” Lucio said.
“That will allow us to put them in a situation where they need to throw the ball,” he added.
“They may do like some of our other opponents and just hold the ball, no matter how much they are down by.
“Either strategy will be fine with us.”
