A 21-year-old Palacios man is being held in Brazoria County on charges he robbed four places in Matagorda County and another in Brazoria County.
Connor Green, 21, of Palacios, matched the description of the robbery suspect, deputies said.
The robbery trail began when there was an armed robbery reported at the Blessing County Store in Blessing around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19.
As Matagorda County Sheriff’s Department units were en route to Blessing, two more armed robberies in Blessing were reported - Tiger Stop Store and another that occurred at the Citgo Gas.
There were multiple law enforcement agencies involved.
The suspect in the robberies reportedly wore clothing that concealed his head, face, arms, hands and legs, sheriff’s deputies said at the time.
As law enforcement personnel were searching the Blessing area around 3 p.m., a call was dispatched as an armed robbery at the TC County Store in Sugar Valley.
Law Enforcement converged to that area and it was determined that the TC Country Store robbery appeared to have the same suspect and same suspect vehicle as in the Blessing robberies.
Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office was notified to be on the lookout for the suspect vehicle.
The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office responded to an aggravated robbery at a convenience store in the 19300 block of Texas 35 in Sweeny the afternoon of Nov. 19.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that a masked male entered the store armed with a firearm and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash in a blue Chevrolet Tahoe.
A vehicle matching the suspect description was later located outside of West Columbia, where deputies made a traffic stop.
The driver matched the description of the robbery suspect, deputies said.
Deputies recovered a large quantity of cash along with a firearm from inside the vehicle.
Further investigation determined that the man also was suspected in four additional robberies earlier the same day in Matagorda County.
The Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office and Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office are actively collaborating on the ongoing investigations.
The man is believed to be the sole suspect.
Green is in the Brazoria County Jail on four counts of aggravated robbery out of Matagorda County, with bonds totaling $200,000, and one count of aggravated robbery out of Brazoria County, with the bond pending.
