The nature of rest

In Other Words....

There’s something to be said about achieving eight hours of rest every night.
In theory, it’s a great idea; in reality, clocking in five or six hours might be a more accurate measure.
Perfecting your sleep schedule involves getting some rest during your awakened state according to Holistic & Wellness Founder Niall Kiddle (@niallkiddle).
Erasing poor habits during your awakened state boosts your ability to securing a good night sleep.
Below are seven types of rest that your body needs:
Physical Rest - When every step feels like a struggle and your body’s crying out for a break, it’s a sign you need physical rest.
Prioritize quality sleep, power naps, and time to unwind with gentle stretches or a soothing massage.
  Your body will thank you.
Mental Rest - Overthinking and overworking leads to brain fog.
This is your body urging for a pause.
Create a daily shutdown ritual, take deliberate breaks, and clear your mind through meditation or journaling.
Social Rest - Every interaction affects your energy.
Curate your social circle wisely, spend time with those who uplift you and step back from those who drain you.
Spiritual Rest - Ever felt that yearning for something deeper?
This type of rest comes from fulfilling activities that resonate with your soul, purpose-driven work, volunteering, or spiritual practices.
Sensory Rest - The constant buzz of a city and endless notifications overwhelms your senses.
Dedicate a space at home free from digital interruptions and immerse yourself in nature whenever possible.
Emotional Rest - When you feel like you can’t be your authentic self, it’s draining.
Identify the people around whom you can be real, because time with them will refresh and reward you in ways that superficial interactions never will.
Creative Rest - Surround yourself with beauty - a breathtaking view, a piece of art, or even a garden.
There’s a reason why successful minds like Steve Jobs, Einstein, and Disney found inspiration in nature.
