Bay City Police announce Shop With A Cop scholarship winners

    This talented group of young men and women received college or dual credit scholarships from Shop With A Cop that started in 2013.
   Each year we provide local kids with school supplies, we purchase toys for kids for Christmas, and for the last few years we offered a scholarship program. 
  This year we awarded $21,000 in scholarships. 
  These dollars are invested back into our youth. 
  Shop With a Cop distributes scholarship applications to all Matagorda County school districts.
  Shop With a Cop’s primary purpose is to assist youth into becoming successful adults by way of developing a positive rapport and trust with local law enforcement through programs that provide recognition, rewards, and mentoring within a safe and secure environment. 
  We also support injured and fallen law enforcement officers and families by reducing their financial burden.
  Included in this group of scholarship awards are two very special awards. 
  As many of our supporters and citizens know, we lost two hero officers from our community within the last few years. 
  These two heroes are Detective Armando Galvan and Detective Juan Delgado. 
  These Detectives cared so much about the youth of our community and their future. 
  With that said, we were able to keep their memory alive with the following two memorial scholarships:
  Honoree for the Armando Galvan Memorial Scholarship: My Vu.
  Honoree for the Juan Delgado Memorial Scholarship: Cay-din Randon.
  We are proud of each of these local high school graduates (or dual credit students).
