Turnout low in May 2 elections

   A total of 1,034 voters cast ballots in those election out of 15,346 registered voters.
  The joint elections for Bay City and Palacios city and school races plus Caney Creek MUD Saturday, May 2, drew a quite low turnout.
   Bay City ISD
  Incumbent trustee Place 4 Priscilla Robinson was unopposed.
  Place 5 incumbent Mark West, won with 63.51% over Martiesa Smith.
   Bay City City Council
  Incumbent Place 2 Councilman Jim Folse won with 63.04% over Marilyn Alvarado.
  In Place 1, Cory McCray had a tight lead in the three-way race with 44.67%, while Stacy L. Rowh had 43.18%, and Lyn Ryman-McCalister had 12.15%.
   Palacios School Board
  Palacios School Board Place 2 went to Ron Laws with 54.96% of the vote, over Luis Pina Jr.
  In Place 4, Karen Botbyl was unopposed.
   Palacios City Council
  Mayor Rick Cink was unopposed.
  Place 1 Council Member Mark Warny got 64.81% over Michael Dotson.
  Place 2 Council race, Troy Lewis was unopposed.
  In the Place 6 Council race, Ina Sonnier won with 69.61% over Linda Parker. 
   Caney Creek MUD 
  In the Position 1 race, David Trevino got 50.27% over Teresa Savage-Tate.
  In Position 3, Tom McCusker received 43.17%, over Michael McCracken, with 24.04%, Richard C. Garcia, with 21.86%, 
  Larry Beck, at 7.65%, and Carl Dore, with 3.28%.
  In the Position 5 race, John Duchek, received 46.41%, Maury Guzick, 23.20%, Rhonda Richter, 17.13%, and Tony Cantu, 13.26%.
