From Phillips 66
Representatives from Phillips 66, Bay City YMCA, and local community members gathered last week to kick off the Phillips 66 Swim Safety Program sponsorship with water safety discussion and demonstrations.
The Swim Safety Program represents a partnership between Phillips 66 and the YMCA that aims to bring free swim safety lessons to Matagorda County residents through a $10,000 donation from the company.
The event, held at 16th Street Pool in Bay City, gave attendees a firsthand look at how the program will help local youth and adults build water safety skills and confidence in the pool.
The initiative is designed to expand access to water safety education and basic swimming instruction at no cost to families.
Phillips 66 is dedicated to promoting swim safety in the communities where it operates, recognizing the importance of equipping children with essential water safety skills.
This commitment aligns with the company’s broader social impact pillars of safety and well-being and social advancement, supporting healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.
“Phillips 66 has been committed to swim safety and water awareness for over 50 years now,” said Jessica Follett, Regional Public Affairs Advisor for Texas and the Gulf Coast, Phillips 66.
“We’re proud to partner with the Bay City YMCA to bring this program to Matagorda County and help expand access to life-saving swim education for local families.”
