"Cook competes in swimming championships" By Bob Button

   Following up with recent results from the USA Swimming Southern Zone Open Water Championships.
   USAS’s Southern Zone is comprised of fifteen (15) Local Swimming Committees (LSC’s).
   The Florida LSC finished first in overall team standings, while the Houston-area LSC - Gulf - placed second, and North Carolina was third.
   SHAC-BC’s Luke Cook (16) raced in the 15/16 5k and placed 28th of 43 swimmers with a time of 1:03:02 (an improvement of nearly seven and a half minutes over his qualifying time from April).  
   In the 2k Team Pursuit, Cook competed on the Gulf B squad in the Open (15-18) division.  Their group placed 4th of 15.
   Coach’s comments:
   Extremely pleased with these results!  
   This was Luke’s second open water race and he’s showing he can race with “the big boys” now.
   Next up for Cook will be the George Block Long Course Invite in San Antonio.
