Tidehaven overwhelmed Danbury 49-8 at home in the District 14-3A-2 regular season finale.
Both teams advance to the playoffs, with the Tigers (5-4) playing Rogers (7-3) and Danbury drawing Franklin (10-0).
“Jachen Duran made his debut as the starting QB and led us to victory,” said Tidehaven Head Coach David Lucio.
“Jerry Johnson scored two touchdowns, one was 1-yard run and the other scoop and score off a mishandled punt snap,” Lucio pointed out.
The coach said that Tiger quarterback Logan Crow should return for this week’s playoff game.
“So, we will find a way to utilize both him and Duran,” Lucio added.
“Our offensive line dominated, they are Clyde Griffith, Brian Resendiz, Sean Cotton, Woody Galvan, and Gus Hernandez.”
Tidehaven had 422 total yards of offense, including 316 rushing yards and 106 passing.
Duran was 5 of 16 for 106 yards passing and a touchdown.
The Tigers had two players break the 100-yard mark.
