Bay City High School Swim Team hosted a tri-meet with Sweeny & St. John XXIII Saturday, Dec. 11.
All distances in yards.
It was very cold and windy Saturday, but each team toughed it out and everyone swam well.
We closed out the meet with a win in the boys’ 400 free relay and a close second place in the girls’ event.
Our girl swimmer of the meet, Lucie Frick, anchored that relay.
Even as St. John XXIII built a nearly pool-length advantage, our Lady Cats continued to battle.
After Frick had nearly run down his swimmer, Lion head coach Dana Abbott remarked that if we’d have been swimming in a meter pool, Lucie may have caught his girl.
Daniel Dye was our boy swimmer of the meet.
He spent the week focusing on technique and it really paid off.
What a great looking swim he had in the 100 free!
Ashton Wallace scored a personal best for his six-dive list.
Several meets into his 3rd season, he’s working on more difficult dives as he preps for the district and region meets.
Our next meet is an invitational at Tuloso-Midway HS in January.
BCHS swimmers in Tomball meet
December 3-5, The Tomball Area Swim Club (TASC) hosted the Gulf 13 & Over Champs meet.
ShAC-BC’s Oliver Spencer, Julia Cook, & Luke Cook represented Swim Houston Aquatics Center in the twelve-team meet.
Scoring was through sixteen places in each event. All distances in yards.

We had plenty of lifetime bests, even in the events our swimmers didn’t qualify to swim in finals.
Both Julia and Luke dropped seven seconds off their lifetime bests in the 400 IM, and Oliver broke a minute for the first time ever in the 100 back.

We didn’t rest Keegan for this meet, but he still had several personal bests. He had a great swim in the 500 free, knocking twenty seconds off his previous best.
