Jones looks back on summer workouts, previews game with Sweeny

“I think it went well - the kids are locked in a ready to show everyone what the 2025 blackcats are all about,” Head Blackcat Coach Robert Jones remarked about summer workouts.
“We qualified for the state 7 on 7 tournament and placed top 2 in every lineman challenge we attended this summer so I can say it was a successful summer.
Jones also discussed Bay City’s opener against Sweeny Friday, with kickoff at 7 p.m.
“Sweeny is going to try and control the clock with there 90% run offense so we have to create turnovers and have explosive plays on offense and special teams and we will be fine,” the coach said.
“I expect our defense to carry us early on with all the skill we lost from last year on the offensive side of the ball, but we got some dudes eager to make a name for themselves on that side of the ball.”
