The Tigers finished 3-1 on the week.
On Tuesday, Feb. 28, we traveled to Ganado and won 7-5.
Winning pitcher throwing 6 shutout innings was Jechan Duran, giving up 1 hit.
He struck out 10 and walked one.
Connor Claxton came in relief in the 7th and gave up 5 runs, 2 earned on 2 hits and 2 walks in 2/3 of an inning.
Ritchie Z Garcia came on for the save 1/3 hitless inning. Leading hitter with 4 hits was Connor Claxton.
Also collecting hits: Cliff Cash 2, 1 each TJ Galvan and Landon Piwonka.
On Friday, March 3, we traveled to Hallettsville for the Sacred Heart Tournament.
In the first game, we defeated Schulenburg.
On the mound Ritchie Z. Garcia threw a complete game shutout, giving up his first hit of the game and season with 2 outs on the 7th.
He struck out six walking 0 on a 79-pitch masterpiece. Leading hitter with 2 hits was Ricky Rubio.
Getting 1 hit each were: Connor Claxton, Christian Rubio, Boogie Galvan and Jechan Duran.
In the second game of the day, we defeated Austin Hill Country 21-3.
Getting the win on the mound was Cliff Cash, giving up 3 runs, 2 earned on 1 hit, 1K and 3 BB.
Leading hitter with 3 hits was Zach Garcia, including a grand slam home run. Getting 2 hits each were; Claxton, Duran, Clyde Griffith, TJ Galvan, and 1 hit each: R. Rubio, C. Rubio, Cash and Piwonka.
On Saturday, March 4, we played in the championship game of the tournament and were beat by Shiner 10. Taking the loss on the mound was Ricky Rubio, we were hitless.
The Tigers move to 6-2 on the season.
