Thursday night, May 4, the Tigers traveled to Marion for round 1 of the playoffs and dropped two, tough one-run ball games.
In the first game, Ritchie ZGarcia took the loss, going 8 innings giving up 5 earned runs on 8 hits, striking out 4 and walking 1.
Leading hitters with 3 hits each were: Zachary Garcia and Ricky Rubio.
Getting one hit each were: Connor Claxton, TJ Galvan and Kale Russell.
In game 2, the Tigers lost 7-6.
Ricky Rubio got the start on the mound and went 4 2/3 innings, giving up 5 runs on 3 hits, striking out 7 and walking 6.
In relief, TJ Galvan took the loss in 2 1/3 innings giving up 2 runs, one of which was earned, on 3 hits, striking out 3 and no walks.
Leading hitters with 1 hit each were: Connor Claxton, Zachary Garcia, Clyde Griffith and TJ Galvan.
Definitely a tough way to end the season and never like to see a season end.
But at the end of the day, super proud of this group for competing throughout the season and getting into the playoffs after a tough start of district.
We will definitely miss our three seniors: Zachary Garcia, Clyde Griffith and Landon Piwonka, but look forward to the guys returning.
