Tidehaven boys, girls navigate through tough district

Tidehaven basketball, girls and boys, has struggled at times this season, but with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs, there’s still hope for postseason journeys.
The Lady Tigers and Tigers compete in ultra-competitive District 28-3A races in University Interscholastic League (UIL) basketball against Palacios, Rice Consolidated (Altair), Edna, Hallettsville and Vanderbilt Industrial.
The 21-2 Hallettsville girls are state-ranked No. 7 in Class 3A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC), and among the 28-3A boys, Hallettsville is No. 18 and Industrial No. 25 in Texas.
“Our district is tough,” new Tidehaven girls basketball coach Dave Beck said.
