Neva Bunch Stanley

Neva Bunch Stanley was humming her favorite hymns when she moved from Bay City to live in Paradise, which she was looking forward to.
Neva was born to Caressa Walker Bunch and Luther Bunch on June 14, 1917 - their beloved only child.
Neva began working for Dow Chemical in 1942 and somewhat reluctantly retired in 1977 as she absolutely loved her career and the people she worked with and befriended over the years.
She enjoyed recounting her many interesting experiences at Dow. Neva married O.B. Stanley in 2001.
They were childhood best friends and reconnected after O.B.’s wife died.
They enjoyed each other’s company very much and their few years together were some of their best.
Neva’s survivors include a few distant cousins, her mother’s namesake - Caressa Speckman Inman, O.B.’s family and a host of dear and close friends whom she greatly loved.
Neva had a brilliant mind and could remember minute details of everyone and every place she had ever visited, and was the go-to gal for every tidbit of goings on in Bay City.
Neva’s name in Gaelic means radiance - brightness...which is not a surprise as it fits her perfectly. She was proud that her birthday was on Flag Day, so hang out your American flag on Tuesday in her honor!
Neva was a 67-year member of The Order of the Eastern Star, a member and officer of The Pilot Club, a United Methodist Women member and a charter member of the Bay City Pink Ladies, having logged 2,509 volunteer hours.
A graveside service was held at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, followed by a celebration luncheon in her honor at the First Methodist Church where all her friends and acquaintances were invited to come and reminisce together.
Pallbearers were Kevin Faciane, Jim Inman, Noe Jaramillo, F.E. Pryor, Luke Speckman and Brian Vajdos. Honorary Pallbearers are Jack Brannon, Dustin Peterson, Dr. Gordon Smith, Dikki Mac Stanley, and Rikki Stanley.
Memorials may be made to MEHOP, 101 Ave. F North, Bay City or the Methodist Children’s Home, 1111 Herring Ave, Waco, Texas 76708.
