Peterson begins work to boost development

Eva Peterson started work Tuesday with lots of key people to meet – each with their own expectations of what her job called for – an office to organize and Matagorda County to study.
But the new executive director of Matagorda County
Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) biggest task is finding the right economic formula to make the county grow.
Peterson’s experience – her toolset - should help in meeting that challenge.
In an interview last week with the Bay City Sentinel, Peterson talked about economic development in Palacios and for Matagorda County.
Team leadership, project management, downtown revitalization, public speaking, strategic planning, budgeting, land-use planning, cost/benefit analysis, operations management, market analysis, process improvement, marketing and public relations are her areas of expertise.
Peterson may be new to this job, but she has been active in Matagorda County since moving here last year with her husband, who’s employed with Tenaris.
That time has enabled her to study the county and its towns, from the perspective of a both a newcomer and an economic development professional with an extensive resume.
