Pavilion project donation

The Matagorda County Jazz Festival Committee, a once-active committee of the Matagorda County Economic Development Corporation, donated $9,919 to the Palacios Beautification and Pavilion Committee for the Palacios Pavilion Project.
The Jazz Festival Committee was formed to raise funds for hosting an annual jazz festival at the Palacios Pavilion to promote county tourism.
Once the pavilion was closed, deemed a safety hazard and demolished, the committee put their mission on hold. The committee chose to donate the remaining balance of their funds toward rebuilding the pavilion.
Pavilion committee members Debbie Morris and David Kocurek, along with Palacios Mayor John Sardelich and MCEDC board members DC Dunham, John Chipman and Ron Laws received a check from Jazz Festival Committee members Timothy Sloan DiNino and Sandra Davis.
