The Bay City Police Department will offer self-defense training for women Thursday, July 9.
The course will be at the Bay City Civic Center from 8 a.m. to noon and is hands-on, physical training.
The actual name of the course is Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention (SHARP).
Sargent Suzanne Sullivan and Captain Christella Rodriguez will be instructing the course.
“This is not the first time I have given this class,” said Sullivan.
“I have done it several times in the past. Most of the time it is after school gets out and then again between Thanksgiving and Christmas.”
