Police use social media in arrest

Bay City police credit social media – Facebook in particular – for helping detectives solve a kidnapping.
On June 29, Bay City Police Department posted information on Facebook about a June 6 kidnapping at Murphy’s Gas Station at 4608 Seventh St. in Bay City, said BCPD Lt. Clayton Ryman.
Detective Scott Sherrill went to work despite facing several delays and obstacles that were outside investigators’ control, Ryman said.
Less than two hours after posting the video, Sherrill received leads that included a possible identification of a suspect.
