Bay City Police Reports: Four injured when shotgun discharges in local garage

Four people were injured by an accidental shotgun blast in a Bay City garage at 5:27 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, reports show.
   Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Marguerite in reference to shots fired.  
   Officers contacted a man in the area who had been wounded when the gun he was holding accidently discharged. Three others also were injured from the gunshot.
   Police said the man was in the garage with friends and picked up a shotgun to move it.  
   With the gun in his hand, the man attempted to move an ice chest in the garage when the shotgun went off.  The shotgun was loaded with bird shot and the pellets ricocheted off of the garage floor, striking the man and the three others.  
   Three of the subjects were taken by Matagorda EMS to Matagorda Regional Hospital with minor injuries. No charges have been filed.
