MRMC Foundation golf tourney raises $40,000

Players in the 6th Annual Matagorda Regional Medical Center Foundation Golf Tournament listen to tournament rules before starting out to their tee boxes.

   The Matagorda Regional Medical Center Foundation 6th Annual Golf Tournament raised more than $40,000, on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Rio Colorado Golf Course. 
   A total of 136 golfers enjoyed  breakfast, followed by an 8 a.m. shotgun start and rounded out their day with a brisket lunch and awards. 
   “This year’s event was our best tournament yet,” said Tiffany Foltyn, executive director of MRMC Foundation. 
   “This event was hosted by 40 dedicated volunteers and we could not do it without each of them.”
   “This year’s corporate sponsors were also a huge part of our successful day.
