Luncheon kicks off planning for 53rd Charity Ball

   The Bay City Junior Service League’s annual Charity Ball Kickoff Luncheon was held Thursday, Aug. 6, in the Bay City Country Club ballroom.   
   The 85 league members attending kicked off the planning of their 53rd annual Junior Service League Charity Ball. 
   JSL President Lisa Volkmer conducted the regular monthly meeting and recognized the senior honorees and rice festival candidate.   
   Ways and Means Chairman Savannah Cornelius and Co-chairman Kim Schneider announced their concept for the event. 
   Cornelius reviewed some of the accomplishments of the organization that included over $218,000 in Charity Ball proceeds returned to the community in the last three years as well as almost 5,000 service hours devoted to the JSL projects over the last three years.
