Van Vleck board discusses late delivery of band uniforms

Van Vleck High ISD ordered new uniforms for its high school band last spring, and officials counted on delivery in time for the band’s UIL marching contest last Saturday.
   But that didn’t happen.
“This past Friday, I believe, was the end of the window to have them shipped,” Principal Brandon Hood told school board members Monday.
“We had anticipated them being in last week, shipped and tailored, by now. I am surprised they are not here yet. The district hasn’t paid any money for them yet, but I am disappointed that we couldn’t wear them Saturday.”
In other matters Monday, the school board accepted a $12,000 grant from Phillips 66 Company.
The money will be used for new classroom technology, officials said.
