Annual BCPD, FUMC food drive begins

   Over 560 families were served last year during The Bay City Police Department and the First United Methodist Church of Bay City’s annual county-wide food drive and distribution goals.
   “Many police officers and community volunteers have seen what a difference this effort makes in people’s lives and we want to continue to carry that vision into the future,” said Captain Christella Rodriguez of the Bay City Police Department.
   Last year’s efforts show just how much this event has grown from the original 35 families in 1989.
   Currently, they are soliciting donations from the community for tax-deductible donations to purchase can goods and other non-perishable items.
