A steady flow of voters cast their ballots at the Bay City Service Center Tuesday before the polls closed.

Local voters approved all amendments to the Texas Constitution as put forward by the 84th Legislature Tuesday.
Of the 20,718 registered voters in Matagorda County, 12 percent or roughly 2,600 participated in this special election.
A total of 1,066 votes from Bay City and Palacios came from early voting that ended Oct. 30.
That is a definite increase from Matagorda County Clerk Janet Hickl’s prediction of 600 last Tuesday.
“People love the new machines,” said Hickl.
Matagorda County’s new machines are known as the eSlate.
Featuring a touch wheel, bright LCD screen and an all-digital system the eSlate cuts the amount of paperwork voters and poll workers have to do.
“The machines were easy and fast,” said Allison Sliva, who was an early voter.
Hart InterCivic is based in Austin.
