Tidehaven’s sophomore running back Jeff Williams (3), above, looks for a room to run against Stockdale last Friday in the two team’s bi-district playoff. Below, senior Cameron Riojas (5) breaks free for yardage. Tiger quarterback Bryce Galvan (11), at right, looks for a receiver.

It should be a classic run-versus-pass contest in the Region 4 3A-2 area playoff between Tidehaven and Odem at Edna Friday night.
“Odem will want to make it a 7-on-7 game,” said Tidehaven AD and head football coach Brent Mascheck.
Mascheck’s Tigers - coming off a decisive 28-14 bi-district win over Stockdale last Friday – will face a No. 5 state-ranked and undefeated Odem Owl.
The Owls are led by junior quarterback Michael Everett, who has 3,280 yards passing this season.
“He throws it all the over the place,” Mascheck said of Everett.
“Our secondary is very excited about the challenge,” the coach added.
Likewise, Odem gets a Tidehaven rushing game that has accumulated almost 3,000 yards on the ground.
