Nearly 500 FFA students compete at BCHS

Approximately 500 FFA students from 25 schools competed at Bay City High and the old Bay City Intermediate campuses in the FFA District 3 Leadership Development Events (LDE) Contest on Nov. 12.
The LDE Contest allows FFA members to compete individually or in teams to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization.
BCHS FFA student Ethan Frazier competed in Creed Speaking, where he had to recite the FFA Creed from memory, and then answer questions about its meaning and purpose. Ethan said, “It was stressful, but still fun. Everyone is getting the chance to meet others from many schools who have our same interests.”
BCHS FFA hosted the district contest, with assistance from the Bay City ISD Maintenance Department.
