Chevez Officer of the Month

Corporal Leo Chevez

   Corporal Leo Chevez was honored as Police Officer of the Month for October by Police Chief Roger Barker.
   Chevez has been with the Bay City Police Department since July 2013.  
   Born and raised in Galveston, Chevez attended Galveston Ball High School, graduating in 2007.  
   Chevez worked as a pre-school teacher in Wharton for three years.  
   He attended Wharton Police Academy and graduated in May 2013.
   He enjoys working out, fishing and playing soccer on weekends off.  
   He is the 2014 100 Club Officer of the year award recipient.  
   Chevez is on the Special Response Team, with an advanced SWAT certification. He also is certified as a hostage negotiator for the department.
