Lighted Christmas Parade Dec. 1

Let it Be Christmas will be the theme for the 25th Annual Bay City Chamber of Commerce Lighted Christmas Parade through downtown Tuesday, Dec. 1.
“This is a big deal. People will start calling us in June wanting to know what the theme is so they can get ready for it. We always have a lot of kids,” said chamber president Mitch Thames.
“You ought to see the faces,” Thames continued.
“This is one of those events we do just because of the looks on the kids’ faces. It’s a real blessing. It puts me in the Christmas spirit - and that takes a lot, unfortunately - but, it’s just a delight to see the kids so excited - especially when Santa comes in on a motorcycle. He’s the last float, always the last float.”
In general, Downtown Bay City will be a very bustling place for the event. Thames expects up to 4,000 spectators to line the streets “three deep” throughout the evening.
