Restaurant features authentic Italian food

   The smell of fresh-baked pizza, veal, steak and homemade Italian Cream Cake are just a fraction of the variety of experiences offered at Venezia Gardens.
   Located at 1700 Seventh Street, the new Italian restaurant offers dine in, carry out and catering.
   Venezia Gardens is a family-owned and oriented authentic Italian restaurant.
   Owner Edmund Metalija, was born in Venice, Italy, and moved to Bay City later on.
   He also owns another restaurant in Corpus Christi.
   “We often drive by on the way to Houston from Corpus Christi and we see this city here and thought they really need some Italian food,” he said.
   “I see everything else here; hamburgers, Mexican food and fast food and I thought a good atmosphere and Italian food were needed.”
